The Gills in Malawi

The guys from the micro enterprise projects have been learning some new things.  We had someone come in to give them some training on the best way to look after pigs and chickens.  Last week they learned about pigs and this week the chickens.  They found out how to tell when a pig is on heat and needs to be in with the male and many other things.  From the sounds of if, they all enjoyed their time.  One of the days was theory and the other was a practical day. 

In the future we would also like them to get some training of how to look after rabbits and also goats.  It really is a good experience for them.

We planted some ground nuts as a trial to see how they would grow with our salty water.  They guys from the garden were not sure if they had grown very well but when they did the harvest we got 2 big baskets full from only 2 and a half rows of plants.

I think that Patrick was very happy.
